SALES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER - TRAVEL

A leading specialist travel company is looking for a truly exceptional Sales and Operations Manager! You will assist with the profitable development of the business with direct responsibility for the sales and operations functions within your department. You will work closely with the Head of Sales and Operations in a role that the company sees as a real key position. You will have proven experience of managing a successful telephone based sales team and solid travel industry experience gained within the Long-haul, Tailor-made and Groups sectors.

The Key Responsibilities of Sales and Operations Manager will be:

Demonstrate outstanding team management skills to drive both sales and customer service.

Manage team performance concerning the setting and achievement of both acquisition and retention targets.

Responsible for the maintenance of quality standards concerning client care and supplier relations

To develop departmental sales plans and actively contribute to the reviewing and progression of divisional business plans

Proactively develop useful working relationships with key external contacts, as appropriate

To actively contribute to the identification and progression of group systems, procedures and documentation relating to Sales & Operations Management

To be responsible for staff recruitment, staff performance management, staff appraisals and for ensuring that staff development needs are met.

Key skills and attributes vital for this role are:

Proven ability in successfully implementing team management techniques

Proven ability in effectively managing and developing individuals and teams

Proven personal sales ability

The ability to apply a consistently commercial approach to all decision-making

Strong analytical skills and high levels of numeracy and financial awareness

Experience of managing change within a team environment

The ability to achieve the overall task with a high degree of autonomy

Salary and Benefits

Basic salary in the range of £25,000 - £27000 plus bonus (OTE £33,500).

Annual leave entitlement will be 25 days increasing to 27 days after 5 years.

You will also be eligible to join the Company Pension scheme into which the Company will contribute 5%.

You will be entitled to participate in the Company's private medical scheme.

A Childcare Voucher Scheme is also offered where relevant.
