Job: Design Manager, Kinetic Plc

JOB TITLE: DESIGN MANAGER

LOCATION: LANCASHIRE

ROLE INFORMATION:

This role will involve managing the Northern Business Unit Design Department and to provide technical support for our client in aspects of design. Your role will involve leading a motivated and talented team of designers and would report directly to the General Manager.

KEY TASKS:

*To lead, direct, motivate, support and develop design staff

*To develop design methods to improve the efficiency of the design process

*To identify, assess and highlight risks and opportunities (H&S, Technical, Commercial)

*To develop the design database to improve the efficiency of information flow to all departments

*To provide technical and design support to our clients departments

*Develop, maintain & monitor control measures / procedures to identify risk and minimize company exposure to unidentified tasks

*Contribute as a key member of the Northern Business Unit management team

*To Liaise with other BU design members

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

*Ability to identify, assess and highlight technical and commercial risks

*Strong IT skills, in particular a good working knowledge of Wallap Software

*Ability to communicate with the team, other departments and external clients

*A good working knowledge of latest geotechnical & structural design methods and design codes

*A good working knowledge of construction processes, methods and site practices

*Understanding of role under CDM Health & Safety regulations

*Identify, assess & highlight risks (H&S, Technical, Commercial)

*Experience of CFA, Bored Piling Design

DESIRABLES:

*Previous experience of managing technical staff

*Experience of wider geotechnical design or processes i.e Diaphragm Walls, Ground Improvements, Anchors, Grouting etc
